ECPI COLLEGE STANDING COMMITTEES

LIBRARY COMMITTEE

The purpose of the Campus Library Committee is to identify the library purpose and standards and to establish policies with a view toward better serving library users. 

The Committee does the following:

 Minutes of the Library Committee include proposals for improvements in library services, and are submitted to the campus President, Library Director, and the Librarians” Council which meets monthly and functions as an all campus Library Committee.

CURRICULUM COMMITTEE

The College-wide Curriculum Committee and the Baccalaureate Program Curriculum Committee are tasked with the following duties:

A.  Review of the curriculum. This review will include, but not be limited to the following:

The review, at a minimum, will look for:

A syllabus
A course outline that breaks the course down for day and night classes – with a list of objectives for each day
Tests or assessment tools to measure whether or not the objectives have been met
Any instructor resource kits or material that is available for the course.

B.   Act in an advisory capacity to the Faculty Managers’ Council in matters of the curriculum.

The Baccalaureate Program Curriculum Committee’s goal is to

Various assessment tools are sued by the committee to review all curriculum on a periodic basis in order to assure that textbooks, curriculum materials, equipment, and learning resources meet the changing educational needs of students.

 The results of the review will be used to provide recommendations to the Faculty Managers’ Council for new and revised curriculum and instructional materials.

The Curriculum Subcommittees help identify the need for new and revised curriculum by
conducting curriculum reviews, assist in writing new and revised curriculum, and help implement new and revised curriculum.

The Curriculum Committee will meet at least quarterly (teleconference) and the Curriculum Chair will submit the minutes of the meetings to the Faculty Managers’ Council.

ASSESSMENT OF EFFECTIVENESS COMMITTEE

An Assessment of Effectiveness Committee with members from each location of the college serves as the on-going clearinghouse for review and analysis of outcomes.  Strategic goals of the College are tied to areas identified as critical to the success of the College and are also included within the broad scope of this committee.  In addition to scheduled evaluation activities, periodic special studies occur to address issues of concern.

The Assessment of Effectiveness Committee provides regular reports to the Board of Trustees and the Executive Administration to assist with strategic and operational planning.
